Native born in Trinidad & Tobago, then a Canadian citizen, and then moved to the US, Ive been living here since I was 8 years old.  A tomboy as a little girl, not fitting the stereotype "little girl" profile; I never played with it or dressed up, actually I was the little girl that disliked dressing up the most!  I didn't start wearing makeup until I was about 13 years old and at that time was just experimenting with eyeliner!  As time evolved, and I came into my own, so did the world of Makeup! It became something that grew to be more of an art, rather than putting it on to attract other people.  From different techniques to achieve a specific look, to different tools to apply certain products..the makeup world has BLOW UP to be bigger and more competitive than anyone could have imagined!

Sitting at home one day, with my kids and realizing the reality and inability to go out and work a 9-5 anymore with 4 kids to care for, I saw a commercial for Makeup Artist Certification, and I thought to myself, why not? I've always had a knack for it, usually getting compliments on my makeup when I did get made up and since it was something I could do from home, I thought it was worth a shot!

Completing my MUA certification 4 months early of schedule, I figured, I had this thing down!  Being a MUA has been a true enjoyment.  When you have the ability to work with women, and show them how beautiful they are without covering it up, but by enhancing it, the reactions and satisfaction they express is so wonderful.

Luminous by Aliyah speaks for itself.  My style of makeup that I stand behind is a true enhancement of the natural beauty God gave to us.  I like to enhance the features to their fullest, and I am known to leave my clients feeling, beautiful, glowing, fresh faced, light and always luminous.  My favorite parts of makeup are the eyes and the luminosity of the skin.  Who wants to wear makeup and feel heavy and bogged down? I always ask my clients, do you feel heavy? Do you feel like you're wearing a lot of makeup?  AND 100% of them say no, I feel great!
